Caroline + Rob // Every Atom of You // Chateau Rigaud, Bordeaux, France Wedding Video

Why do you want a Cinematic Wedding Videographer?

There's an ability to really capture the feel of the day in video that you just can't in pictures...a few friends of mine have had wedding videos made and when you watch them all the emotion of the day just comes flooding back. It'll be a really lovely thing to share with our children (hopefully!) one day and for us to look back on in years to come.

So often on the day I'm told you are caught up in emotion and what's going on in your immediate vicinity so it also gives you the opportunity to remember parts you might have forgotten or not seen on the day.

More about our Wedding Video in France…

You guys? ...What do you do?..How do you spend your days?..What's important in life?

So....Caroline runs her own business (financial recruitment) and Rob is an artist (sculpture)...so entirely different careers!

We love our work but also love our social life and spend lots of time with friends and family out having fun in London...exploring different restaurants/bars/parks/festivals. We probably spend more time out than in...and love an immersive dining/theatre experience.

Things we love: ancient history (both); art (Rob); as many holidays as we can cram in (normally getting some ancient ruins in); food (both!); wine (both!); Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit (Rob!); wow this list makes us sound geeky..!

We both believe it's important to live life the full so are very much yes people and get involved in as much as we can...

The proposal? ...Tell us everything!

Very romantic - we went to Paris for a long weekend (Rob had to go out there for work so we tagged a few days on for us to hang out).

It's a place that means a lot to us as Rob surprised me with a trip to Paris for my 30th (literally arrived in a taxi outside my office one Friday lunchtime with my passport and a suitcase!); and then we've been a few time since when Robs work took him there. We LOVE how beautiful/romantic the city is...love the cafe culture, the wine the food!

We arrived on the Thursday afternoon and Rob had organised the accommodation which was an attic apartment up on the hill in Montmatre...the balcony was overlooking the Sacre Couer. As we sat outside, Rob popped open some pink champagne and we watched the sun setting over Paris...he then put on some music and I was chatting away, when he quickly interrupted me...(apparently the song had come on which was his cue to propose) with a lovely proposal.

The Venue/s? ... Why this place above anywhere else?

I'd always loved the idea of getting married on a Vineyard in France and when I told Rob he ws totally up for the idea. A lot of our friends and family live outside London now so selfishly it meant we could spend more time with everyone, and hopefully more chance of sunshine. Coupled with the amazing food and wine obviously.

I was recommended Chateau Rigaud by someone who lives in the Bordeaux area and LOVED the look/style of the venue on their website, so when they responded to my enquiry to say they had a cancellation and one weekend free in Sept 2018, we were straight out on a plane to Bordeaux to view it. Within 10 minutes of being there I knew it was right for us...but the shower in the turret in the bridal suite clinched it!

What experience do you want to give to your guests?

Just the most fun weekend - I want everyone to thoroughly enjoy themselves. We've got lots of our close friends in important roles in the wedding e.g. the celebrant is a great friend of Robs, One of our ushers is in the band and we know the rest of the band well, the DJs are friends of ours. So we hope it will be personal, fun, with lots of dancing!

We're also hosting a canoeing/pic Nic trip on the Friday and a 'recovery lunch' with lawn games/swimming at the chateau on the Sunday - those bits are optional for everyone but hope that all in it should feel like a weekend party!
